1907 High Relief

Lot 4169 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1907. High relief, Roman numerals, wire rim. MS-60 Plus. This one has been cleaned, with hairlines visible on the reverse near the eagle. The obverse is very nice, with a high wire rim on the right side. One of the most beautiful coins ever produced, and always popular with collectors. Struck several times by the dies in order to bring up the relief. Impressive, and always an easy sell.
Estimated Value $6,000-7,000.

1908. No motto. NGC graded MS-66. Frosty and bright, with a clean face on Liberty. When examined with a strong glass, only a couple of small ticks can be found, mostly on Liberty's body or hidden in the wing feathers. Well struck and always desirable in this grade.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.

Lot 4171
1908. No motto. NGC graded MS-66. Sharp and well preserved, with just a few ticks hidden on both sides. Excellent luster and eye appeal.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.

Lot 4172 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1908. No motto. PCGS graded MS-66. Satiny luster throughout with a delicate copper tone familiar to gold collectors. Decidedly few marks, and awarded a high grade accordingly. Liberty's face has some stacking marks, as nearly always seen, but the surrounding fields are superb.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.

Lot 4173
1908. No motto. NGC graded MS-66. Another bright and flashy example of this popular hoard date. Minor handling marks scattered on each side, none offensive or grade detracting. Scarce in this grade.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.

Lot 4174
1908. No motto. NGC graded MS-66. Bright and untoned, the surfaces with very few signs of handling or stacking. Well struck and likely from a large hoard of these that was broken up some years ago.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.

Lot 4175
1908. No motto. PCGS graded MS-66. This example has delicate coppery toning in the fields. Excellent surfaces and free of all but the smallest handling ticks. A superb example for the type collector. We note that Liberty's face is better preserved than most.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.

Lot 4176
1908. No motto. NGC graded MS-66. Frosty luster and with the usual hidden scrapes and scuffs on the high points, keeping this coin from an even higher grade. Perfect enough, obviously.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.

Lot 4177
1908. No motto. NGC graded MS-66. Satiny luster and well struck for this scarce type coin. The fields and devices show light handling marks, and the upper devices minor stacking scuffs. Pleasant enough.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.

Lot 4178
1908. No motto. NGC graded MS-66. Flashy luster as usual for this issue and very bright. Some softness in the strike on Liberty's upper thigh and face, which also exhibit the ever present stacking scuffs there and on the eagle's breast. One scrape on the bottom of the B of LIBERTY.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.

Lot 4179
1908. No motto. PCGS graded MS-66. Another outstanding example of this hoard coin, the face on Liberty is better than most, and the only scuffs worthy of note are on her left arm and above near the olive branch, and a couple other trivial ones on the eagle. Lightly toned with bluish gold hints.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.

Lot 4180 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1908. No motto. PCGS graded MS-66. Flashy gold luster and hints of copper hues on both sides. A superb gem coin, likely from the hoard released a few years ago. One for the investor.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.

Lot 4181
