With a lengthy inscription in pencil, in French, on recto and verso: "My dear Lebrun, Would you like to come to my play? ... 2 copy's of the little anthology of childlike melodies... Thank you. Ch Gounod." The composer has crossed out the printed name "Jean" and written his own, "Ch." in pencil to identify himself.

A business card for the notorious gunfighter, in his later role of Attorney at Law. The printed card reads, "John W. Hardin Esq./ Attorney At Law /Practice In All Courts." Hardin material is exceedingly scarce.
