Gounod, Charles. (1818-1893) French composer. Major works include his masterpiece "Faust" (1859). Inscribed Visiting Card Signed. 3¾ x 2¼", on cream card stock. With a lengthy inscription in pencil, in French, on recto and verso: "My dear Lebrun, Would you like to come to my play? ... 2 copy's of the little anthology of childlike melodies... Thank you. Ch Gounod." The composer has crossed out the printed name "Jean" and written his own, "Ch." in pencil to identify himself.
