Rare Off-Metal 1971-D JFK Half

1971-D Mint Error. PCGS graded AU-55 Struck on 40% Silver Planchet. Like the famous 1943 Copper Cent, this coin was struck from a left over planchet. The regular issue was comprised of only Copper-Nickel Clad coinage as the silver clad coinage (40% silver) ceased in 1970. This is the first such example we have handled.
