Lot 1499
1849-O. V-1, Small open Medium Date. MS-64. Deep, olive-gray toning, changing to light rose-colored iridescence near the rims. Just below the date, four of the denticles are a bright silver
color and the rim below those is dark. Scarce in all grades, becoming rare in Mint State, but especially so in MS-63 and better condition. In fact, none have been graded finer than MS-64 by PCGS. Accompanied by an old, green-label PCGS insert graded
"MS64." Rated Low R-6 in Mint State by Blythe. Estimated Value $4,500-5,000.
