Frosty, Mint State 1895-O Morgan Dollar

Lot 792 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1895-O. NGC graded MS-63. A nice, white example of one of the toughest dates in the series to find in Mint State condition. The surfaces are satiny, with a soft, even luster and just a tiny mark or two on Liberty's cheek. The strike is excellent, with strong detailing of the normally weak hair above Liberty's ear and the eagle's breast feathers. All in all, an important coin for the quality-minded collector of this popular series. NGC reports 14 at this level, 12 in MS-64, and 1 amazing (and costly) MS-65.
Estimated Value $16,000-18,000.

1895-O. PCGS graded MS-61. A nice frosty uncirculated example of this rare date. A few light bag marks away from being choice. A decidedly rare coin in any mint state grade. Pop 18 with 49 higher.
Estimated Value $9,000-11,000.
"Coco and Misha's Morgans" PCGS Registry Set ranked 15th finest.

Lot 799
A large lot of 22 (twenty-two) 1896 Morgan Dollars, all graded MS-64 by PCGS. A quick perusal of the coins indicates that most are pure white, a few have a touch of golden toning at the rims, and just a couple have some toning on most of one side. The real attraction of this lot is the possibility of upgrades, since they are all in second-generation, green label PCGS holders. Lot of 22 coins.
Estimated Value $600-650.
