Lot 2696
1893 Isabella Quarter
Dollar. MS-63. Mottled gold and blue toning on both sides, with
clean surfaces for the grade.
Estimated Value $425-500.
Lot 2697
1921 Alabama Half Dollar,
with 2 x 2. NGC graded MS-66. Awash in bright luster and well struck
too, with no signs of toning on either side. This one is quite sharp, and a
glass really shows how superb the surfaces are when closely examined. Note that
this issue was struck in 1921, long before there were large numbers of serious
collectors, and hence most were mishandled over the generations. This
particular one remains as fresh and bright as the day it was coined. NGC has
graded only 12 this high, with none graded higher. Always in strong demand for
the 2X2 in the right obverse field, and very difficult to find in anything even
approaching gem grades.
Estimated Value $3,000-3,500.
Lot 2698
1921 Alabama Half Dollar,
no 2 x 2. PCGS graded MS-65. Greatly enhanced by blue, green and
gold peripheral toning on both sides, with gold towards the center. Fairly well
struck too for the issue. One of the scarcer Commemoratives to find in gem
grades.
Estimated Value $1,500-1,700.
Lot 2699
1936 PDS Arkansas Half
Dollar set. Each is PCGS graded as follows: P and D Mints, MS-66, and
the S Mint grades MS-65. Each coin has matching gold toning over luster,
and all are very nice for the assigned grades. Lot of 3 coins.
Estimated
Value $1,200-1,400.
Lot 2700
1938 Arkansas Half Dollar
PDS Set. Each of these is PCGS graded MS-64. Light pinkish gold
toning on these, and almost certainly together since the time of issue as the
color is well matched, and obviously, so are the surfaces. Lot of 3 coins.
Estimated Value $300-350.
Lot 2701
1938-D Arkansas Half
Dollar. PCGS graded MS-66. Satiny luster and well preserved, we note
just a couple of minor ticks on the obverse, one in the field before the
chief's eye, another at the lower end of the plain cap. Light gold around the
periphery, but generally white in color. PCGS has graded a mere 36 this high,
with only 7 graded higher, all MS-67 above.
Estimated Value $1,800-2,200.
Lot 2702
1938-D Arkansas Half
Dollar. PCGS graded MS-65. Speckled gold toning on both sides in an
even manner, with clean surfaces beneath. Bold and beautiful.
Estimated
Value $350-400.
Lot 2703
1939 PDS Arkansas Half
Dollar Set. The 1939 is NGC graded MS-65, the 1939-D is PCGS graded
MS-65 and the 1939-S is NGC graded MS-64. Each shows light golden flecks of
toning on each side, mostly on the reverse, while the obverses tend towards
bright silvery white. Lustrous and well matched, and likely a set that was
together since the time of issue. Lot of 3 coins.
Estimated Value
$1,250-1,500.
Lot 2704
1925-S California Half
Dollar. PCGS graded MS-66 Premium Quality. An especially bright and
flashy example, and hence deserves a premium. As to the grade, well, MS-66
certainly says a lot, but this one seems to push that number. Take a moment to
examine the pristine surfaces and not the absence of bagmarks or other
detriments. Then notice how sharply the devices are struck and the exceptional
quality overall. PCGS has graded 180 his high with just 61 graded higher.
Estimated Value $1,250-UP.
Lot 2705
1925-S California Half
Dollar. MS-63. Artificial blue and red toning on the obverse, more
natural appearing on the reverse, with fresh luster and just a bit of blue at
the rim.
Estimated Value $100-125.
Lot 2706
1936 PDS Columbia, S.C.
Half Dollar Set with original cardboard holder of issue. These each
grade MS-65. Each coin has the tab toning from decades of storage in the
paper holder. We note very bright luster and gold toning from the paper holder.
Lot of 3 coins and the paper holder.
Estimated Value $600-UP.
Lot 2707
1893 Columbian Half
Dollar. PCGS graded MS-65. This one is really a gem, not only are
the surfaces pristine, but they are enhanced by glowing blue and gold toning at
the periphery, while the centers are a satiny gray gold. The toning is seen on
both sides, and the surfaces are quite alluring. PCGS has graded only 289 this
high, with 64 higher of the date.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
Lot 2708
1935 Connecticut Half
Dollar. NGC graded MS-65. Satiny luster with flecks of gold and

Lot 2710
1936 Elgin Half Dollar.
PCGS graded MS-65. Evenly toned with deep reddish gold on both sides
over strong luster. Better than average strike, with better facial details on
the reverse than many. If you loved golden toned coins, take a look at this.
Estimated Value $150-200.
Lot 2711
1922 Grant Half Dollar, no
star. PCGS graded MS-65. Reddish gold toning on both the obverse and
reverse, with hints of rainbow iridescence when viewed under a light. In an old
style small PCGS holder.
Estimated Value $400-500.
Lot 2712
1935 Hudson Half Dollar.
NGC graded MS-66. Light gold around the periphery, and well struck
throughout. A difficult coin to locate this nice, and we note the NGC
Population Report shows just 75 as such, with only 12 graded higher. A first
rate example for the specialist.
Estimated Value $1,500-2,000.
Lot 2713
1918 Illinois Half Dollar.

1925 Lexington-Concord
Half Dollar and original box of issue. MS-64. This one comes with
the original wooden box of issue, with the minuteman stamped on the cover, and

toning starting to form.
Estimated Value $250-UP.
Lot 2716
1934 Maryland Half Dollar.
NGC graded MS-65. Mottled gray, gold and yellow hues on both sides
of this specimen. In demand in gem grades.
Estimated Value $140-160.
Lot 2717
1921 Missouri Half Dollar,
2 x 4. PCGS graded MS-64. With a mintage of only 5,000 pieces, the
Missouri 2 x 4 has always been scarce, especially in this near gem grade. On
this particular coin we note lovely rich golden toning on the obverse with
lilac hues intermixed at the center, while the reverse tends to be brighter
with light peripheral toning at the base. Well struck and preserved, and an
important coin for the specialist.
Estimated Value $1,250-1,500.
Lot 2718
1921 Missouri Half Dollar,
no 2 x 4. NGC graded MS-64. Especially bright luster on this early
Commemorative Half dollar, with a touch of vibrant gold toning near the rims of
both sides. Well struck and preserved, with nearly gem surfaces.
Estimated
Value $1,000-1,250.
Lot 2719
1921 Missouri Half Dollar,
no 2 x 4. NGC graded MS-64. A mate to the 2 x 4 in this sale, both
are toned with gorgeous gold and blue toning, and both have identical grades.
This particular one is well struck and quite lovely, with deeper blues on both
sides and choice gold predominating. Scarce, and a lot more expensive if found
better, and this one has all the eye appeal needed for a gem collection.
Estimated Value $1,000-1,250.
Lot 2720
1923 Monroe Doctrine Half
Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64 Premium Quality. Nice and bright on the
obverse, with full luster and clean surfaces, the reverse shows pretty gold
toning with a darker area on the upper left.
Estimated Value $400-500.
