1881 (3 pieces), 1881-O (2 pieces) and 1881-S. The all grade Uncirculated. Each coin is toned to some degree. Lot of 6 coins.

1881-CC. PCGS graded MS-66 Premium Quality. As perfect an example of this date as one could hope to find, the luster is fresh and bright, and the coin is stark white in color. Well frosted on the devices, and the fields and surfaces are just pristine, even better than usually found in this grade. PCGS has graded over 700 this high, but only 51 higher.

1881-S. NGC graded MS-66 Deep Mirror Prooflike. Especially bright frost on Liberty, and deeply mirrored fields surrounding. A touch of toning around the rims adds to the appeal.

1881-S. PCGS graded MS-66. Iridescent pale green and blue on the obverse, the reverse bright white. Exceptional quality for a toned dollar, but the colors are not as intense as seen on some of the others in this sale.

1881-S. PCGS graded MS-66. Midnight blues over most of the obverse with areas of bright pinkish red in the fields, with green overtones. The reverse with light gold at the edge, flashy luster elsewhere. Examine this one under a light if you want to take in the color schemes. Gem surfaces, with an excellent cheek on Liberty.

1881-S. PCGS graded MS-66. A frosty gem and in one of the rare transitional PCGS holders with the PCGS logo printed in green and white on the insert. Lovely surfaces on this one.

1881-S. MS-66. Blazing white luster and slightly prooflike in the fields. Superb surfaces, and very frosty.

1881-S. MS-65. The obverse of this one has beautiful toning which ranges through bright orange gold over Liberty and blue in the fields. Blazing luster and well struck. The reverse is untoned and white.

1881-S. MS-65. This one is from an old collection, toned with deep blue at the upper rim and gold elsewhere over mint luster. The toning is quite lovely. The surfaces are free of all but minute hairlines and very few contact marks can be found even with a glass.

1881-S. ICG graded MS-64. Deep and spectacular toning on the reverse, the left side blazes with blue green and the balance is fuchsia colored, less toning on the obverse, where we see pastel blue fading through red to gold at the top. If you love lots of color, then here is one to enjoy.

1881-S. NGC graded MS-64. The obverse is toned a deep pastel blue over dancing luster, and along the left obverse rim is an intense fuchsia arc, with a band of this color continuing through her face and into her hair over her ear. On the reverse, we see a ring of gold, bright elsewhere.

1881-S. NGC graded MS-64. Toned with ample light gold on both sides with a very colorful area above Liberty's cap with blazing blues and reds there. Another toned delight.

1881-S. MS-63. Deep red, green and gold from an original bag on the obverse covering about two thirds of the coin, with the area from Liberty's ear down still white (from where another coin covered this portion). The reverse is white. Minor handling marks, and quite beautiful for the intensity of the colors.

1881-S. This roll grades Brilliant Uncirculated. All the coins are nice in this one, several are prooflike. Lot of 20 coins.

1882 (5 pieces) and 1883. This group grades Uncirculated or better. All are toned, and the 1883 is especially nice with blue at the edge, and gold elsewhere. Lot of 6 coins.

1882-CC. PCGS graded MS-66. Gleaming white luster on the obverse, with a hint of gold toning on the upper left reverse. Well struck and scarce this nice.

1882-CC (2 pieces) and 1883-CC GSA black box dollars. These each grade MS-60+. Mounted in the familiar black government boxes. Two are bright and untoned, while one of the 1882-CC coins is toned with rich red and gold hues on the obverse. Lot of 3 coins.
