(1942, United Artists). Polish, poster issued for 1960s re-release. 23 x
33". Unframed one-sheet poster. A 2" tear at lower left; a few small tears
around edges; surface abrasions across center of image; and one soft horizontal
fold. Overall, good condition.
Ernst Lubitsch's classic anti-Nazi
comedy, set in Poland and starring Jack Benny and Carole Lombard, gets dramatic
treatment in this poster.

Outstanding graphics on this poster advertising an adaptation of
Edgar Alan Poe's Tomb of Ligeia, starring Vincent Price in one of his
classic roles. B.

Memorial Fund" Poster. 1935. Printed by the Tooker-Moore Litho Co. of New
York. Chipping to edges, some fairly large but not evident with existing mat;
faint foxing to bottom edge; one dampstain by figure of America.
The nation
mourned the death of Will Rogers and Howard Chandler Christy's poster shows us
the figure "America" offering the humorist a laurel wreath while the caption
for the Memorial Fund reminds the country how to honor the great man.

Lot 1770
Platoon
(Hemdale, 1986). Academy Award winning film written and directed by Oliver
Stone. The first of a Vietnam trilogy, Platoon is a dramatic portrayal
following the lives of American soldiers in a platoon, confronted by the trama
of fighting the ever-changing war in Southeast Asia.
Collection of
combat props used by Charlie Sheen in the film Platoon. Includes a
shovel, measuring 27½" in length, that features an adjustable handle.
Also included are two machetes accompanied by a fabric scabbard, each with
identifying plaques that indicate the pieces, being production inventory of
"Vietnam Veterans in the Media", were used by Sheen. Finally, a canvas bag,
stencilled "US" on its flap. Bag also features an identifying plaque indicating
the piece was used for filming. A color, 8 x 10" movie still of Sheen
accompanies the lot. In fine condition overall.
