Transmittal letter to the 27th Congress of the United States, presenting a report from the Director of the Mint describing the operations of that institution for the year 1841. The letter, which was published as a preamble to "US Mint Document No.71," and read with the Mint report before the 27th Congress, Second Session, on February 8, 1842, reads:
"I transmit, herewith, to the House of Representatives, a report from the
Director of the Mint, showing the operations of that institution for the year
1941.

Washington, 31st. Jan. 1842. " .
