Sheridan, Philip Henry. Military Calling Card Signed. 3 x 1¼", on off-white card stock. An unusual military card used to identify a Commanding General of the US Army. The card features a dotted line at the bottom for a signature, below which there is the printed legend, "Major General Commanding." General Sheridan has signed his name on the printed line, "P.H, Sheridan," identifying himself as commanding officer. Moderate soiling on recto, with mounting traces on verso. Still, an unusual and attractive specimen.
