Shaw, George Bernard. (1856-1950) British
Playwright, awarded 1935 Nobel Prize for Literature. Autograph Card
Initialled. A note card which Shaw sent through the mail like a postcard.
The card is 4½ x 3½", on heavy grey card stock, postmarked
"London, W.C.," and bears Shaw's printed address at top right, "10 Adelphi
Terrace W.C." The author has dated his note, "November 6, 1904" in the same
black ink with which he writes his missive to Henry Holiday. Shaw
writes:
"The date you gave me was this evening. I shall not be able
to come tomorrow, worse luck! Perhaps you will be repeating the lecture
sometime, somewhere. G.B.S." Moderately soiled from handling. Addressed in
Shaw's hand.
