Coward pens a blithe note of thanks for a book he has just received as a seventieth birthday present: "What a lovely 70th birthday present. I have always maintained as you know that you are a lovely user of the English language. It is an endearing book. Thank you dearly for it. All my love and Happy Everything. Noel."
