Heraclius, 610-641 AD. Gold Solidus (4.6g). Mint of Jerusalem. Facing busts of Heraclius (on l.) and Heraclius Constantine (on r.) of broad, squat appearance. Reverse: Cross potent on three steps. S-851; R-1367. Virtually as struck with the typical weakness around the borders, a bold strike within. Extremely Fine.

Historically significant, as amid all the years of fighting, Heraclius restored the Holy Cross to Jerusalem, an act symbolic of the victorious conclusion of the war.
