Valentinian II, 375-392 AD. Gold Solidus (4.3g). Minted in Constantinople in 378-383. Pearled diademed and cuirassed bust of the young emperor facing right. Reverse: Constantinopolis, helmeted, seated facing, head right on throne ornamented with lion's heads, holding scepter and globe; foot on prow. RIC 46c (R2). A lustrous example, well centered and quite choice. Extremely Fine. Very scarce.
