Galba, 68-69 AD. AR Denarius (3.5g). Spanish mint (Tarraco?). GALBA IMPERATOR, laureate head of Galba facing right, small globe at base of bust. Reverse: VIRTVS, Virtus standing left holding Victory and parazonium. RIC unlisted, but may be a new mule variety combining a 3b obverse legend with a Virtus reverse type that is listed in the RIC as being associated only with 1e obverse legends. Attractive Spanish portrait style. Some minor discoloration across the obverse (removable?). Very Fine. Very rare.
