Pescennius Niger, 193 AD. AR Denarius (3.4g). Antioch mint. Laureate head right. Reverse: Justitia (or Providentia?) standing frontal, head left, holding globe and scepter; IVSTITIA AVG. RSC 45; cf. RIC 50. Rare. Remarkably good metal, virtually devoid of the usual porosity. Nice gray toning, slightly iridescent. Choice Very Fine.
