Nero, 54-68 AD. Gold Aureus (7.4g). Rome mint, struck 66-67 AD. Laureate head right. Reverse: Salus enthroned left, holding patera, SALVS below. RIC 66; BMC 94; C. 317. Strong pensive portrait, still lustrous fields. Small scratch on Nero's neck, along with minor reverse rim bruise at 11 o'clock. Nearly Extremely Fine, the portrait perhaps a little better. Color photo.
