Lucania, Metapontion. 350 BC. AR Stater (8.0g). Diademed head of Demeter facing right, hair in bun behind. Reverse: Ear of corn, plough to left, no legend. Cf. SNG-ANS 377 (obv.). Although struck on a slightly worn obverse die, the reverse is so sharp you can pick the kernels off the stalk! Excellent metal and lustrous. Superb Extremely Fine.
