World Crowns and Minors

Lot 4637
GREAT BRITAIN. Halfcrown, 1658. SC-10. Oliver Cromwell. One of the finest known of this scarce type, struck in just two years (the 1656 is a great rarity). Boldly struck and prooflike. The pebbled portrait is about as fine as one will ever view. The coin is also splendidly toned to a bright golden bluish gray. A very special specimen, as most are found VF or EF, seldom better, and a large number have been cleaned. Only one other has been graded Uncirculated by PCGS, another MS-64. This is indeed a treasure for the advanced Anglophile! PCGS graded MS-64.
Estimated Value $3,000-UP.
