World Crowns and Minors

Lot 4649
GREAT BRITAIN. Shilling, 1723-SSC. SC-85; ESC-1276A (R5 Extremely Rare, 10-12 Known). George I. SSC variety with one C over a mostly lapped-out SS. Bright iridescent bluish silver toning and a perfect strike--unlike many, as this issue is often seen with minting flaws and missing areas where the dies were filled with grease. A Gem SSC shilling, but even more important a Gem of this elusive variety. PCGS graded MS-65.
Estimated Value $750-900.
